Congratulations to the Parker Family on the completion of their new home that was Dedicated on December 13, 2014!
We enjoyed a fantastic summer building a house with the Parker Family! Javida was involved throughout the entire construction process, and her excitement constantly warmed our hearts and fueled our enthusiasm.
Her son, just 8 years old, visited several times and never quit beaming! I imagine her daughter was thrilled too, but she's just a year old—a bit too young to tell us about it!
We are most grateful to Anheuser Busch, http://http://www.abercrombie.com/Abercrombie & Fitch, and the New Albany Housing Partnership who made this project possible with their generous donations in partnership with the City of Columbus Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP), and the Self-help Homeownership Opportunity Program (SHOP).
This Habitat for Humanity–MidOhio project was situated on Duxberry Street in the South Linden neighborhood. We owe a debt of gratitude to 312 volunteers for contributing over 4,300 hours to the effort, and especially to Terry Baughman for his co-Leadership throughout.
In addition to the large number of volunteers from the sponsors listed above, organizations that provided significant groups included Bike and Build, Commercial Vehicle Group, JP Morgan Chase, EMC Corp, Allied Minerals, Wells Fargo, Exel, Triangle Fraternity, the Tuesday and Thursday crews, and the Wednesday and Thursday Night crews. It was a pleasure to work with everyone, and we are grateful to all!
